Engineers Construction (ECI)

Williston, Vermont-based Engineers Construction (also known as ECI) is a familyowned general contractor specializing in civil, site work, concrete construction, paving, railroad construction, and directional drilling.

ECI was founded in 1965 by Alan Pidgeon whose sons, Ken and Scott, have since taken control of the family business. ECI has enjoyed continued growth since opening its doors; in 1973, Alan added AC Paving Corporation while Ken and Scott created ECI Directional Drilling, Inc. in 2000 and added ECI Rail Constructors, Inc. in 2006.

The company brings a wide variety of experience, engineering knowledge, craft and management skills, and specialty equipment to provide a quality product, on schedule, at a fair price. Their workforce is focused on safety, quality, integrity, respect, environmental awareness, and good business practices.

ECI’s services consist of five major construction segments:

  • Civil
  • Concrete construction
  • Asphalt paving
  • Trenchless pipelines
  • Rail construction

According to company founders, their workforce thrives on difficult technical projects requiring extensive planning, engineering analysis, and specialized equipment. They excel in working on aggressive schedules.

Their fleet consists of mainly of John Deere machines including the following:

  • 32 Excavators
  • 13 Loaders
  • 4 Wheeled Excavators
  • 2 Articulated Dump Trucks
  • 8 Crawler Dozers
